Hands up, who wants to be tagged?

  • Steinbeck is my favorite too. The Chinese cook in East of Eden was a great character. Good list.

  • Bought East of Eden a long time back and a friend bought Grapes of Wrath. We promised to exchange after we were done reading our respective books. He finished a long, long time ago, while I still haven't even opened mine!

Yep, that's what I do, buy books planning to read them and never find the time to do so, although, lately, my hit ratio is getting better.

I'm currently reading Chasing the Monsoon by Alexander Frater. Appropriate, I think, considering the monsoon has just arrived here.

  • Ammani - did you like the LAdies detective agency.

For a while I toyed with the idea of a Mylapore mami solving a bunch or Madras-related problems like Mme. Ramotswe. Very unoriginal I know but it had some very interesting possibilites.

The only trouble with having a Mylapore maami solving an Agatha Christie would be resort to all the cliches. But if you can weave your way through the minefield, I think there's a world of possibilities.
Yes, I liked No.1...haven't got around to reviewing it yet.
